What a football fixture tells you

A fixture is the scheduled meeting between two teams. A useful fixture listing should identify the home team, away team, competition, date, kickoff time and current status. The match page may also show the venue, round, stage, referee, lineups and recent team form when those details are available.

Kickoff times can change because of broadcasting selections, travel, weather, security arrangements or competition decisions. Fixtures Hub displays the latest time stored in its data source and marks information as unavailable when it has not yet been confirmed.

Common match status labels

  • NS or Scheduled: the match has not started.
  • Live: the match is currently in progress.
  • HT: the match is at half-time.
  • FT: the match has finished after normal time.
  • AET: the match finished after extra time.
  • PEN: the match was decided by a penalty shootout.
  • PST: the match has been postponed and may receive a new date.
  • CANC or ABD: the match was cancelled or abandoned.

Using date and competition filters

Use the date controls to move between yesterday, today and tomorrow, or choose another matchday from the calendar. Competition filters narrow a busy schedule to a league or cup, while status filters separate live, upcoming and completed matches.

When a date contains many competitions, Fixtures Hub loads league groups in batches. The first group of leagues is expanded and further groups can be loaded without refreshing the whole page.
